The Filipino Lesbian Look
Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at 06:53PM Athena the Lesbian is only attracted to men, but not because she is not a lesbian; it's because she is a Greek Lesbian. Yeah, I was a little confused at first too. Anyway, she stopped by my office today and asked why Lucia the Accounting Analyst was giving her a look every time she saw her.
"What kind of look?" I asked.
"The kind of look you give another woman who's fuckin' around with your man," she said.
"Really...?" I said. "You fucking around with Lucia's husband?"
Now she gave me a look. It was the look that indicated why are we playing this game? You know what I'm talking about, so why can't we just be open and honest about the situation?
Fair enough, but I decided to go another way:
"Maybe Lucia is a lesbian," I said.
"She's not. She's Filipino."
"Yes, I know. But I meant, maybe she's a Filipino lesbian."
"You mean, she's half Lesbian?"
"Half? As in bi?" I asked, knowing she did not mean bi."She's married, so I guess that makes sense..."
"What does this have to do with her giving me a look?"
"Maybe you misunderstood the look. Maybe it was a lesbian look."
"I know how Lesbians look. And that's not a Lesbian look."
"Don't think Greek Lesbian. Think Filipino lesbian..."
I raised my eyebrows and gave her a look. The look said, think dirty. Suddenly, it dawned on her. She dropped her jaw as if her pristine mind had somehow been damaged by the thought of another woman coming on to her. Imagine, another woman coming on to a Lesbian...
"That's the look? Filipino lesbians look mean when they come on to other women?" she asked.
"Yeah, Filipino lesbians are the worst," I said.
So Athena was convinced that Lucia wanted her, even though Lucia was the furthest thing from a lesbian, and Lucia was convinced that I wanted a threesome with both of them, even though the thought hadn't crossed my mind. What a fucked up situation.
But who knows? Maybe I will somehow get a threesome out of it...
