Thursday, September 20, 2007 at 05:07PM The Test Lab is not used for testing. I had my desktop support person set up six computers in an office that nobody wanted to use because it has no windows. Nobody wants to use it for testing either, but since the Test Lab is not used for testing, it works out perfectly. We do, however, use the Test Lab to play a computer game called Half-Life.
I justify playing this game by calling it "Team Building". Because Team Building is a benefit to the company, we only do it during working hours so that it doesn't interfere with anyone's personal life. Team Building is a way to have fun on the company dime. And while killing each other brutally with high-powered weapons may not seem like an activity that would bring people closer together, it has an amazingly positive impact on team morale. Getting out aggression on each other in the Test Lab makes dealing with each other in the business world tolerable.
I have to cut this short because another "Test" session is about to start up....

I would ask where you work, but I don't want to compromise your operation.
Yes, anonymity is key to continued successful team building exercises... Although I have dropped some good hints along the way. I'm surprised nobody has guessed yet. Hmmmm. Even so, I would not be able to confirm or deny...
