Something's definitely going around. And to set the record straight, I didn't swap fluids with Jason X, as some of you have been alluding to in his recent post Still Sick. I know who to blame for this one. This is the reason why I am opposed to in-office meetings versus tele-conference meetings. You're surrounded by people with kids, who caught something from some other kids in school, who have now transferred their little kid germs to mommy and daddy to take into the workplace. Then you're packed in a conference room, being coughed on and sneezed on with no remorse. I should have known when half the meeting participants had their own personal tissue packs in their pockets and the community candy jar, once filled with individually wrapped Kisses now replaced with Ricola cough drops, was sitting on the conference room table. (Uuuggghhh!!!!)
And it's all setting in now...dreading the anticipated body aches to follow and a much courser rasp in my already raspy voice. I'd call in sick tomorrow--no, wait, I don't have to call in to anyone. I'll answer a few emails via Blackberry and double or triple book my calendar with fake meetings and use 'scheduling conflicts' as my alibi for not attending any of my real meetings.
For now, it's all about the "Tussin" and Tylenol PM. Looking forward to a trip to Jamba Juice tomorrow for a Coldbuster Smoothie plus an Immunity boost. Yup, that should do the trick (I hope).
